Have you not seen how those who dispute the revelations of God, turn away from Truth to falsehood? 69 Those who reject the Book and the (revelations) with which We sent our messengers: but soon shall they know,- 70 When carcans are about their necks and chains. They are dragged 71 In boiling water; they will then be ignited* in the fire. (Like fuel – see verse 2:24) 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 Beside Allah? They will say: they have failed us; aye! we have not been calling upon aught afore. Thus doth Allah lead the infidels astray. 74 (And it will be said): 'That is because you rejoiced on earth in things of which you had no right, and were very happy. 75 Enter the gates of Hell to stay therein forever. The abode of the arrogant is evil. 76 So be patient, (O Prophet). Surely Allah's promise is true. Whether We show them a part of the woeful consequences against which We warn them (while you are still in their midst) or We recall you (from this world) before that, eventually it is to Us that they shall be brought back. 77 Before your time We sent other messengers: of them there are some whose story We have related to you, and some whose story We have not related to you. It was not [possible] for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of God: but when the command of God was issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice. There and then, those who stood on falsehoods perished. 78
