Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HA MIM. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
