'Aad denied the messengers 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
