Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
