If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His signs are the ships in the sea like mountains. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He wrecks them for what they have earned; and He pardons much; 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 The retribution of a harmful deed is the harm equal to it; so whoever forgives and makes amends, so his reward is upon Allah; indeed He does not befriend the unjust. 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
