And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth, and you shall not have a guardian or a helper besides Allah. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 Who avoid the deadly sins, immoral acts, and forgive when they are angered, 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
