Ha, Meem. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
