And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And it will profit you not today, because ye have done wrong, that ye are in the torment sharers. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you, "Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent One?" 45
