۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol: 25, Page 89]. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with clear proof (in support of his truthfulness), he said, "I have come to you with wisdom to clarify for you some of the matters in which you have disputes. Have fear of God and obey me. 63 "Verily, Allah! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of true Islamic Monotheism)." 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
