In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
