۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
