۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
