We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
