Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
