Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur'an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
