Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 your ideas are confused. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
