Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They slept little in the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
