Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
