Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
