Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
