The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
