Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
