Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
