(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
