Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
