Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
