Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
