So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
