Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
