Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
