Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
