Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
