Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
