Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
