So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
