The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder. 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 They have cried lies, and followed their caprices; but every matter is settled. 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 Their eyes cast down, going forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ Before them Noah's people also gave the lie (to his Message). They rejected Our servant as a liar, saying: “He is a madman”; and he was rebuffed. 9 He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 'Ad also gave the lie (to Hud). So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 22
