The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder. 1 Whenever they see a miracle, they turn away from it and say, "This is just a powerful magic". 2 They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. 3 There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), 4 Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember? 15 So how did My punishment turn out, and My threats? 16 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 20 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 21 But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 22
