Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
