The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Created man, 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
