The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
