The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
