The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
