The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
