The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
