The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
