The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
