The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
