The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
