The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
