The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
