The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 facing one another. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And raised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
